75gm of sugar solution has 30% sugar in it.Then the quantity of sugar that should be added to the solution to make the quantity of the sugar 70% in the solution, is
1). 125gm
2). 100gm
3). 120gm
4). 130gm

This Question has 3 answers.

Correct answer is: 100gm

.Sugar in original solution = 22.5gm

Let x gm of sugar be mixed

= $\frac{22.5+x}{75+x}\times100$ =70

2250 + 100x = 75 × 70 + 70x
 2250 + 100x = 5250 + 70x
 30x = 5250 – 2250 = 3000

x= 100gm

Let mixture is 100gm in place of 75gm for calculations purpose.at the end we changed.

So, 30% of 100gm=30gm.....sugar in mixture initially.

Then let X amount of sugar added in the mixture to make sugar 70% in that mixture.

30+x/100+x =70%

By solving the equation we get X=400/3

Then,

100=400/3

75=?

We get 100gm as our answer.
