IB DP Business Management HL
Business Management HL is the Higher Level course for Business Management. It covers how organisations operate and make decisions, from human resources and finance to marketing and operations.
Higher Level (HL) courses are designed for students with a strong interest or a plan to study the subject further. They typically involve about 240 teaching hours and cover more content, in greater depth, than Standard Level.
What students will do
- Analyse business cases
- Apply tools and theories
- Make justified recommendations
Internal assessment
Students complete an internal assessment based on real organisations, which contributes to the final grade alongside the external exams.
Always ask "why does this matter?" Linking facts to causes, consequences and perspectives is what lifts a good answer into a great one.
Should I choose SL or SL?
Choose HL for subjects you enjoy most or may study at university, and SL for the rest. Your teacher or DP coordinator can advise on the right balance.
