.Let the maximum marks in the
examination = x.
According to the question

= $\frac{40x}{100}$ - $\frac{30x}{100}$ = 50

= x = $\frac{50\times100}{10}$ = 500

25%more means 

4 to 5 

5unit=40

4unit=32

Passing marks 32

32%=30%+2%

This 2%= 25 

100%=1250

32%=400
