There are 3 classes having 20, 25 and 30 students respectively having average marks in an examination as 20, 25 and 30 respectively. If the three classes are represented by A, B and C and you have the following information above the three cases, answer the questions that follow:

A’s highest score 22, Lowest score 18

B’s highest score 31, Lowest score 23

C’s highest score 33, Lowest score 26

If five students are transferred from A to B.

If 5 students are transferred from B to A, what will be the minimum possible average of A?
1). 20.69
2). 21
3). 20.75
4). 20.6

This Question has 1 answers.

Lowest score of B $= 23$

Present total marks of $A = 20 × 20 = 400$

Marks of $5$ students of $B = 23 × 5 = 115$

New total marks of $B = 400 + 115 = 515$

New average of B = $(\frac{{515}}{{25}} = 20.6)$

Hence, $20.6$ is the new minimum average of $A$.
