The IB Diploma Programme
The Diploma Programme (DP) is a two-year pre-university course for students aged 16 to 19. Students study six subjects, one from each of the main groups (with the arts group replaceable by a second subject from another group), at either Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL).
Alongside their subjects, every DP student completes the DP core: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). Subjects are graded from 1 to 7, and the core can add bonus points to a maximum total of 45.

Subject-by-subject practice
Find resources for each DP course, organised by subject and level.
Exam-focused
Practise skills that internal assessment and external exams reward, from structured essays to data analysis.
Plan your time
Short focused sessions across subjects keep revision manageable alongside the core.
Plan backwards from your exam dates, give every subject regular short sessions, and keep past-paper practice for the last stages of revision.
What is the difference between SL and HL?
HL courses are broader and deeper, with roughly 240 teaching hours compared with about 150 for SL. Students take three or four subjects at HL and the rest at SL.
How is the DP graded?
Each subject is graded 1–7, with up to 3 extra points for TOK and the Extended Essay, giving a maximum of 45 points.
