Human Geography in IB MYP Grade 1 Geography

In IB MYP Grade 1 Geography, Human Geography gives foundational learners (ages 11–12) the chance to practise exploring where people live and investigating towns, cities and communities.

MYP Geography is assessed against four criteria (A: knowing and understanding, B: investigating, C: communicating and D: thinking critically). Regular practice with human geography builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.

What learners practise

  • Exploring where people live
  • Investigating towns, cities and communities

For students

Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.

For revision

Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.

For teachers

Use human geography activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.

Study tip

Build a simple timeline or concept map for each unit. Seeing the whole picture on one page makes revision much faster.
