Health and Wellbeing in IB MYP Grade 3 Physical and Health Education

Health and Wellbeing is part of IB MYP Grade 3 Physical and Health Education. At this intermediate stage (ages 13–14), learners work on understanding food, rest and exercise, understanding physical and emotional wellbeing and analysing factors affecting health and wellbeing.

MYP Physical and Health Education is assessed against four criteria (A: knowing and understanding, B: planning for performance, C: applying and performing and D: reflecting and improving performance). Regular practice with health and wellbeing builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.

What learners practise

  • Understanding food, rest and exercise
  • Understanding physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Analysing factors affecting health and wellbeing

For students

Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.

For revision

Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.

For teachers

Use health and wellbeing activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.

Study tip

Warm up properly and record how your body responds. Noticing heart rate, breathing and recovery makes the theory real.
