Modern History in IB MYP Grade 5 History
Modern History is part of IB MYP Grade 5 History. At this advanced stage (ages 15–16), learners work on analysing significance of modern historical events and critically evaluating modern historical interpretation.
MYP History is assessed against four criteria (A: knowing and understanding, B: investigating, C: communicating and D: thinking critically). Regular practice with modern history builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.

For teachers
Use modern history activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.
Build a simple timeline or concept map for each unit. Seeing the whole picture on one page makes revision much faster.
