Digital Art in IB MYP Grade 1 Visual Arts
Digital Art is part of IB MYP Grade 1 Visual Arts. At this foundational stage (ages 11–12), learners work on exploring simple digital drawing tools and creating a basic digital artwork.
MYP Visual Arts is assessed against four criteria (A: knowing and understanding, B: developing skills, C: thinking creatively and D: responding). Regular practice with digital art builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.
What learners practise
- Exploring simple digital drawing tools
- Creating a basic digital artwork
For students
Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.
For revision
Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.
For teachers
Use digital art activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.
Keep a process journal. Sketches, notes and reflections show your thinking, and they are exactly what assessors want to see.
Quick answers
Who is the Digital Art page for?
It is for IB MYP Grade 1 Visual Arts learners, typically aged 11–12, and for the parents and teachers who support them.
Are digital art resources free?
Many are. Each resource shows a clear Free or price label, so you can start with the free ones and add premium resources when you need more practice.
How should I use these resources?
Pick one resource, complete it without help first, then check and correct. Repeating this little and often is more effective than one long session.
