Space Physics in IB MYP Grade 4 Physics

In IB MYP Grade 4 Physics, Space Physics gives advancing learners (ages 14–15) the chance to practise understanding gravity and orbits, analysing celestial mechanics and applying physics to astronomical phenomena.

MYP Physics is assessed against four criteria (A: knowing and understanding, B: inquiring and designing, C: processing and evaluating and D: reflecting on the impacts of science). Regular practice with space physics builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.

What learners practise

  • Understanding gravity and orbits
  • Analysing celestial mechanics
  • Applying physics to astronomical phenomena

For students

Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.

For revision

Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.

For teachers

Use space physics activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.

Study tip

Link every fact to an everyday example. Ideas you can connect to real life are much easier to remember and apply.
