Testing and Evaluation in IB MYP Grade 1 Product Design
In IB MYP Grade 1 Product Design, Testing and Evaluation gives foundational learners (ages 11–12) the chance to practise trying out a simple creation and checking if a creation works as planned.
MYP Product Design is assessed against four criteria (A: inquiring and analysing, B: developing ideas, C: creating the solution and D: evaluating). Regular practice with testing and evaluation builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.
What learners practise
- Trying out a simple creation
- Checking if a creation works as planned
For students
Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.
For revision
Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.
For teachers
Use testing and evaluation activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.
Document every stage of the design cycle with photos, sketches and short notes. The process matters as much as the final product.
Quick answers
Who is the Testing and Evaluation page for?
It is for IB MYP Grade 1 Product Design learners, typically aged 11–12, and for the parents and teachers who support them.
Are testing and evaluation resources free?
Many are. Each resource shows a clear Free or price label, so you can start with the free ones and add premium resources when you need more practice.
How should I use these resources?
Pick one resource, complete it without help first, then check and correct. Repeating this little and often is more effective than one long session.
