Electricity and Magnetism in IB MYP Grade 1 Physics
In IB MYP Grade 1 Physics, Electricity and Magnetism gives foundational learners (ages 11–12) the chance to practise exploring simple circuits and magnets and investigating how circuits work.
MYP Physics is assessed against four criteria (A: knowing and understanding, B: inquiring and designing, C: processing and evaluating and D: reflecting on the impacts of science). Regular practice with electricity and magnetism builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.
What learners practise
- Exploring simple circuits and magnets
- Investigating how circuits work
For students
Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.
For revision
Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.
For teachers
Use electricity and magnetism activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.
Sketch a quick diagram or flow chart for every process you study. Visual summaries are far easier to revise from than paragraphs.
Quick answers
Who is the Electricity and Magnetism page for?
It is for IB MYP Grade 1 Physics learners, typically aged 11–12, and for the parents and teachers who support them.
Are electricity and magnetism resources free?
Many are. Each resource shows a clear Free or price label, so you can start with the free ones and add premium resources when you need more practice.
