Programming in IB MYP Grade 4 Digital Design
Programming is part of IB MYP Grade 4 Digital Design. At this advancing stage (ages 14–15), learners work on using loops and conditions in code, designing structured programs and applying advanced programming concepts to real problems.
MYP Digital Design is assessed against four criteria (A: inquiring and analysing, B: developing ideas, C: creating the solution and D: evaluating). Regular practice with programming builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.
What learners practise
- Using loops and conditions in code
- Designing structured programs
- Applying advanced programming concepts to real problems
For students
Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.
For revision
Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.
For teachers
Use programming activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.
Test early and test often. A quick prototype that fails teaches you more than a polished idea that was never tried.
Quick answers
Who is the Programming page for?
It is for IB MYP Grade 4 Digital Design learners, typically aged 14–15, and for the parents and teachers who support them.
Are programming resources free?
Many are. Each resource shows a clear Free or price label, so you can start with the free ones and add premium resources when you need more practice.
How should I use these resources?
Pick one resource, complete it without help first, then check and correct. Repeating this little and often is more effective than one long session.
