Alphabet Tracing in IB KG
Alphabet tracing builds the pencil control children need for writing. Every sheet has dotted letters to trace, guide lines for writing alone, a circle-the-letter hunt and a picture activity.
What learners practise
- Tracing dotted letters
- Writing letters between guide lines
- Finding and circling letters
- Linking each letter to a picture word
For students
Trace with your pencil, then try on your own. Colour the animal when you finish.
For parents
Print on A4 and sit beside your child. Short, happy sessions work best.
For teachers
Use as a morning task, centre activity or homework. Each page has a name, class and date box.
Let children trace with a finger first, then a thick pencil or crayon. Praise effort and neat starting points.
Quick answers
Why trace letters?
Tracing teaches letter shapes and the movements of the hand before children write alone.
Capital or small letters first?
Many schools start with capitals, others with small letters. Both sets are here, so follow your school.
Do the worksheets have answer keys?
Tracing pages do not need one. Circle and match activities are easy to check at a glance.
