Design Cycle in IB MYP Grade 4 Product Design
In IB MYP Grade 4 Product Design, Design Cycle gives advancing learners (ages 14–15) the chance to practise planning and creating a solution, testing and improving a design and applying the full design cycle rigorously.
MYP Product Design is assessed against four criteria (A: inquiring and analysing, B: developing ideas, C: creating the solution and D: evaluating). Regular practice with design cycle builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.
What learners practise
- Planning and creating a solution
- Testing and improving a design
- Applying the full design cycle rigorously
For students
Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.
For revision
Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.
For teachers
Use design cycle activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.
Test early and test often. A quick prototype that fails teaches you more than a polished idea that was never tried.
Quick answers

Many are. Each resource shows a clear Free or price label, so you can start with the free ones and add premium resources when you need more practice.
