Chemical Reactions in IB MYP Grade 4 Chemistry
Chemical Reactions is part of IB MYP Grade 4 Chemistry. At this advancing stage (ages 14–15), learners work on understanding reactants and products, analysing reaction types and equations and applying reaction kinetics and equilibrium.
MYP Chemistry is assessed against four criteria (A: knowing and understanding, B: inquiring and designing, C: processing and evaluating and D: reflecting on the impacts of science). Regular practice with chemical reactions builds the knowledge and skills those criteria reward.
What learners practise
- Understanding reactants and products
- Analysing reaction types and equations
- Applying reaction kinetics and equilibrium
For students
Work through the worksheets, practice questions and revision resources at your own pace. Check your answers, then redo anything that felt tricky and explain each answer in your own words.
For revision
Use these resources for homework, end-of-unit revision and catching up on anything missed in class.
For teachers
Use chemical reactions activities as a starter, homework or retrieval practice, and mix free and premium resources to differentiate.
Sketch a quick diagram or flow chart for every process you study. Visual summaries are far easier to revise from than paragraphs.
Quick answers
Who is the Chemical Reactions page for?
It is for IB MYP Grade 4 Chemistry learners, typically aged 14–15, and for the parents and teachers who support them.
Are chemical reactions resources free?
Many are. Each resource shows a clear Free or price label, so you can start with the free ones and add premium resources when you need more practice.
How should I use these resources?
Pick one resource, complete it without help first, then check and correct. Repeating this little and often is more effective than one long session.
